Selection of different crops for nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers
1. Nitrogen fertilizer
Ammonium nitrogen fertilizers should be used for rice, especially ammonium chloride and urea, which have better effects. Applying ammonium nitrogen fertilizers (such as ammonium bicarbonate, ammonium sulfate, ammonium chloride, urea) or nitrate nitrogen fertilizers (such as ammonium nitrate) to cereal crops such as corn and wheat is equally effective. Potatoes and sweet potatoes are also suitable for using ammonium nitrogen fertilizers.
2. Phosphate fertilizer
Leguminous crops (soybeans, peanuts), sugar crops (sugar beets, sugar cane), fiber crops (cotton), potato crops (potatoes, sweet potatoes), melons and fruit trees need more phosphorus, so increasing phosphorus fertilizer has good fertilizer effect. In areas with high phosphorus fertilizer usage, there is no need to apply phosphorus fertilizer annually to avoid waste.
3. Potassium fertilizer
Tobacco, potatoes, sweet potatoes, sugar beets, watermelons, fruit trees, and other crops require a large amount of potassium, but these potassium loving crops should avoid chlorine and should not use potassium chloride. Potassium chloride is also not suitable for long-term application on saline alkali land. It can be used as base fertilizer and topdressing on non chlorine tolerant crops, but it is not suitable for use as seed fertilizer.
